Cost of Iraq: Dollars

One unreasonable and unyielding person wants this War of Lies and Fear to continue, despite all logic and reasoning, despite all counsel to the contrary, despite the will of the people of the world.

And now a treacherous Congress has supported his illusions and delusions and denial.

Have we become so weak that we have allowed ourselves to continue to be frightened by the constant threats and the fear we are told are out there?" This president makes us appear weak and fearful with his words.

Don't be as cowardly as they appear to be.

Don't continue to allow his fear compromise our valor and our good sense.

We have become morally and fiscally bankrupt as a result, but from this we can recover, as hard as that may be. Whatever consequences we have earned, we can survive.

We cannot, however, recover from the loss of more innocent lives in Iraq...not American lives and not Iraqi lives.

We must stand united once again and be strong.

We must not cower or appear to cower in hopes that our corporment will protect us from the evil they say is there even as their actions show quite the opposite to be true.

We cannot let the manipulative, hypocritical, fearmongering liars convince us that we are not so.

We can no longer allow their vacuous words hold in a state of paralysis or apathy or let their contradictory actions and obvious hidden agendas go unchallenged.

Resist the constant lies.

Call them out on their blatant hypocrisy, their criminality, their incompetance.

Make our voice heard around the nation and the world.

Hold this administration accountable for what they have done.

Never forget 9/11 and its victims, but also never let the memories and the horror of that day, the fear and anger we felt then forever rule us. Our weakness and our fear would mean they have won.

Whoever they may be.

Do not sacrifice liberty and country over petty differences or an illusionary enemy.

Think about who the words of fear are really coming from and why.

Think about the distractions we are fed daily, the vacant, neverending catch phrases, the constant beating of the war drum.

Think about the constant media repetition, the odd focus on the irrelevant, the lack of objectivity.

Think about who it is stealing our humanity, our goodwill, our common sense, and our money and pitting people against each other around the world and is not being held accountable in any way. A people divided are conquerable and can be controlled. Neither sovereignty nor government can or will protect them.

Think about who appears cowardly, foolish, and desparate and takes us with him.

Think about who doesn't care how we look as long as he gets his way and then accuses others of doing that very thing. Like a spoiled, petulant child.

Think about who benefits.

Think about what's worth all this and to whom.

Then think again.

If we continue to allow this demented mantra of half truths and outright lies that our president and his minions repeat ad nauseum to distract us into bickering among each other, to hate each other, to make us look away from what is really happening and allow them to run rampant, it would mean that those who attacked us on that day have won.

Whoever they were.

But they have not won. And they will not.

More and more of us see the truth every day.

We love our country and its people and hate what is happening on so many levels, want to be compassionate citizens of the world, understand the priorities.

Our leaders apparently do not.

Be vigilant. Question everything. Out loud.

Get involved because it matters. We matter and so does what we think.

We must oust the corrupt leadership with their skewed and hidden priorities.

Put aside and ignore the distractions and irrelevant issues, and focus on the real priorities. The ones we have common ones. The ones that effect the most people. The ones where time is of the essence and where allowing something to continue will do the most harm.

Remember that all that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men and women to stand by and do nothing.

Support our troops...bring them home now.

We need them here, not there.

Enough...is...enough.
